Driver Training Services employs highly-qualified, professional driving instructors who are experts in the field. Their backgrounds include experience in law enforcement, fleet safety, traffic safety research and youth leadership. Interested in joining our team? Become an instructor!
All of our instructors undergo a thorough background check including:
- driving history (accidents and violations)
- child abuse history clearance
- FBI criminal background check and fingerprinting
- PA state criminal background check
- physical/mental fitness examination
- character reference checks
Our instructors must also pass a lengthy written exam administered by the PA Department of Education in Harrisburg and a practical driving exam (behind-the-wheel) at a local PennDOT driver testing center. We actively develop our instructors with continuing education opportunities, so they’re always learning new ways to train students.
