Bob Gillmer has been involved in the transportation industry for more than 30 years. He has certifications from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as an Inspection Mechanic, a CDL Trainer, and a Third Party CDL Instructor/Examiner, with a working knowledge of DOT regulations. He is also licensed by the PA Department of Education as a driving instructor.
He has extensive experience in safety training, risk management and accident prevention. Prior to founding Driver Training Services in 1996, Bob’s work history includes:
- Fleet Safety Supervisor for an armored car company
- Operations Manager for a School District
- Operations Manager for a national bus company
- Safety Manager for a limousine/para-transit company
He received his certification in Driver’s Education from West Chester University and teaches student and Defensive Driving at Montgomery County Community College, where he also consults in the development of their adult continuing education program. He also teaches the Professional Truck Driver program for adults at the local vocational-technical career center.
Bob currently holds multiple certifications as a Driver Competency Assessment (DCA) provider.
Bob currently serves as Vice President of the Pennsylvania Association of Professional Driving Schools (PAPDS), Vice President (Northeast Region) of the Driving School Association of the Americas (DSAA) and is a member of the Pennsylvania Association For Safety Education (PASE). He holds certifications in numerous safety training programs by the National Safety Council.
Bob is dedicated to improving the safe driving ability of every one of his students, whether they’re teenagers or professionals.
